Bangkok Convention – Tokyo Convention

The Bangkok Convention is a regional convention on the recognition of studies, diplomas, and higher education degrees, in Asian and Pacific countries. It was adopted in Bangkok in 1983 and came into force on 23 October 1985. So far, it was signed and ratified by 18 countries, of which 14 (out of 50 potential countries) are members of UNESCO and come from the same Region.

 

It was revised, and the revised Convention (Tokyo Convention) was adopted in Tokyo on 26 November 2011 and entered into force on 1 February 2018. It was signed and ratified also by the Holy See.
